Garden Pictures and a Hike

Every March I start dreaming about the vegetables we will plant in our garden.
This year we will grow a garden in and around our apartment.

Does not concern the bee;
A clover, any time, to him
Is aristocracy."
~Emily Dickinson

Baby peppers and a tiny mushroom

 Tomato plants in the kitchen

Cucumber plants

Grace and her roses. Beans climbing in the background.

Fun fact: a Venus Fly Trap cuts down on fruit flies.

First Fruits: a baby red potato

Here is our "curbside" garden. We are attempting to grow kale, cucumbers, strawberries and red potatoes.

This summer we plan to hike in the Alps. In order to work up to long days on our feet we take mini hikes closer to home. The following pictures are of our hike near Neuschwanstein Castle... a.k.a. tourist trap of Europe!
If I may give any advice here, please visit this castle in the 'off season'. It was as crowded as a Walmart on Black Friday.

This is a picture of a bridge with supposedly a picturesque view of the castle, loaded with tourists. We decided to hike miles up the steep mountain to find our own view.

 There it is! Neuschwanstein Castle.

The mountains are calling and I must go.

Key words: urban garden, Neuschwanstein Castle, hiking in Europe, Germany
